Structural Design

Rigid Frame

This design is the perfect choice for use in sports arenas, aircraft hangars and other projects that require wide, column-free space. This type of building is a single span rigid frame structure fabricated of either hot, rolled section or welded-up plates with solid webs. The frames are either tapered or of uniform depth and are considered pinned at the base with bolted connections at the eave, peak, and any intermediate splice.

Tapered Beam

For smaller offices, free-standing shops and commercial facilities, the Tapered Beam System offers straight, constant-depth sidewall columns and flat-bottom rafter members for easy, inexpensive interior framing and finishing. This type of building has a straight sidewall column. The sidewall girts frame directly into the column, flush with the outside face. These frames are considered pinned at the base with bolted connections at the eave and peak.

Single Slope

Retail shopping centers and office parks have special needs for straight, clean lines to accommodate signage. A&S Building Systems, L.P. accomplishes this with a variety of single slope designs that not only look good, they eliminate rainfall drainage problems and cost less. This type of building may be either a single clear span or with one or more intermediate pipe columns. It is fabricated of either tapered or uniform depth and is considered pinned at the base with bolted connections at the eave, peak and intermediate splices.

Rigid Frame w/ Interior Column

In large factories and multiple tenant warehouses where production and traffic flow can allow for columns, A&S Building Systems, L.P. RFC design cannot be beat for economical performance. These systems are available in widths up to 240' (with three rows of interior columns) and even wider by special design. This type of building is a continuous span rigid frame structure with one or more intermediate columns. It is fabricated of either hot rolled sections or welded-up plates with solid webs. The frames are either tapered or of uniform depth and are considered pinned at the base with bolted connections at the eave, peak and intermediate splices.

Lean-To

For companies on the grow, our Lean-To allows you to add the space you need at the sides or end walls without a lot of time and expense involved. Roof lines can either follow the design of the main building or be attached below the eave. This type of building is fabricated of either hot rolled sections or welded-up plates with solid webs and have straight sidewall columns. Sidewall girts frame directly into the column flush with the outside face. The rafters are designed as a simple span with the column to rafter connection being a simple shear connections. The high end must be attached to another structure which must provide lateral and vertical support for the frame.

Multi-Story

For low rise offices or hotels, A&S Building Systems, L.P. Multi-Story buildings offer a cost-effective, attractive solution. Each Multi-Story project is a special quote, custom designed system to fit your exact needs.

Long Bay

Another of A&S Building Systems, L.P. special design quotes is the Long Bay System, ideal for manufacturing, warehousing or other functions that require extended bay lengths. The Long Bay System uses alternate secondary structural framing to extend bay lengths up to 40' or more.

Load Bearing Tiltwall

A&S Building Systems, L.P. can provide framing systems for both load bearing tiltwall and masonry construction systems, by special quote. Roof Covering options include VistaSeal and DuraSeal standing seam roofs, as well as the VistaSheen standard 36' roof systems with the purlin support leg.
